Stellite

Stellite

Stellite is an alloy of  cobalt, chromium, and tungsten, with a Co content of more than 50%. Depending on the alloy, the hardness of stellite is in the range of 32-58 Rockwell C. Its hardness and toughness are the same at over 800° C as at room temperature. Its high chromium content and low iron content give stellite a resistance to corrosion better than that of stainless steel.
